“I got this idea that maybe I wanted to practice in a law firm and do family law, domestic relations. And I got a great job. I worked mostly on domestic relations cases. It was exactly what I wanted to do, and I found it unbelievably unsatisfying on a number of levels. And I knew that almost immediately, I missed being in charge of my own cases and making my own decisions and having that autonomy. I had gone from being a fairly senior trial person in the Attorney General’s office to being a junior associate. And that was hard for me.”
