“When the.com crash started to happen around us, I had to fire 300 people. I had taken so much care to hire these people, go into each of these countries and do the hiring sprints that we had done, where you meet people face to face, you interview them, you hire them. I was not about to send an email to fire these people. So I went all around the world, looking people in the face and firing 299 people and then fired myself as the 300th.”
