“There was a time that a colleague called me on the phone wanting to talk about an issue that was quite serious, and I was not prepared for the call and what I should have done is say, “hey, I’m actually not prepared to talk about this right now,” and instead I pushed through, and it was more confusing than it needed to be. And I’m not sure that that person felt totally heard or totally great about the conversation afterwards.”
