Interview Highlights
“It’s not your home. It’s not the place you work, but it’s a third place where you can gather and connect with others.”
Best Career Advice
“Do what you love, be very deliberate in your choices, do not let life happen to you, but be thoughtful about the approaches that you take in your career and your life. Every single moment that you experience is a choice and you can enjoy your job or you can not enjoy your job.”
Career Challenge
“My first job, I thought I was supposed to love it. And then I was in private practice being a trial lawyer but working 2,500 hours per year, toiling. And it wasn’t very fun. I didn’t love having to ask people for business. I didn’t love the selling. I didn’t love the hours. And I didn’t think that I felt very committed to the work that I was doing. And that’s really a hard place to be when you have invested your postgraduate career to getting a degree that you thought would make you instantly happy in the profession that you chose.”
