“I almost wanted to postpone making that decision [of what to do after college] because I wasn’t sure. And there were no kind of clear opportunities that had emerged. So I was weighing a couple of opportunities for things I could do that summer. One was the fellowship around Auschwitz in Poland that was supporting Holocaust education. And the second was this opportunity to participate in a symposium at the Hague on international common resolution and mediation. And that, to me, felt more forward looking…It certainly increased my interest in doing conflict resolution as a career.”
