“I started the Law Enforcement Tactics club at West Point. In hindsight, I realized that I was being an entrepreneur. I was being an innovator. I saw a problem and an opportunity. There was no existing cadet club or activity, so I created something to address that need.”

“Read. Life is too short to make your own mistakes and learn only from those, reading allows you to learn from the mistakes of others and that involves both nonfiction and fiction reading.”

Career Challenge

“I had a fantastic boss when I was in private practice and he asked me to do a research project. And I was a little proud of myself at the thoroughness of the work I’d done until I received the bill that we get after research is done. And I thought that I had used sources that were covered by the plan that the firm had. It turns out that I had accidentally used $20,000 outside that plan. So I had to go back to the same boss who I admired, which made it more difficult in explaining my mistake.”
