Patrick Curtis is the CEO, founder and chief monkey at Wall Street Oasis, an online platform with over 700,000 members to help college students and grad students start and build their careers in finance. In the years since it launched a decade ago, Wall Street Oasis has become the one-stop-shop..
Career Path
Interview Highlights
“I think people appreciated the lightheartedness of [Wall Street Oasis], given that wall street and finance isn’t always the most exciting or interesting topics to talk about. But I think it’s been fun. Good people feel like they can have a little bit more fun on that platform.”
Best Career Advice
“Ask a lot of dumb questions early and often, but then to not ask the same question twice.”
Career Challenge
When Curtis was 24, he was fired from a job without really understanding why. His employers were not upfront with him, and with the help of his former classmate, he was able to find a new job. “Relationships are everything. I wouldn’t have that second job if it hadn’t been for that analyst in my class. So if I wasn’t friendly, if I wasn’t kind to my fellow analysts and they didn’t like me, I would have not had a job.”
