“I was doing a pilot for a network and they insisted on hiring an actor that I thought was wrong for the project, but they basically said, unless you hire this actor, we won’t make the project. So of course I did. I was scared, hadn’t been directing all that long, and I felt like I had no choice. So I directed the pilot and it did not come out well. And I was blackballed from that network and had a really hard time getting hired again.”
