Best Career Advice

“The journey you take along your career is more like a zigzag than a straight line, and there can be detours and it may not feel like it makes the most sense in the moment, but there’s a lot of serendipity involved.”

Career Challenge

Spencer recalls the summer of 2013 when he had his most difficult work experience as a prep cook at Colicchio & Sons. Working in the food industry isn’t always as glamorous as we see on TV. It’s hard work with long hours mostly on your feet. Although Spencer was an aspiring chef, he quickly realized this wasn’t what he wanted to pursue. So for that summer he was in a position that he didn’t want to be in longterm, but he had to suck it up in order to fulfill his commitment to the job.
