Interview Highlights
“You don’t have to be in a toxic environment in order to prove your value. You’re just valuable because of who you are.”
Best Career Advice
“Having some balance and having moments where you can frolic and enjoy life and appreciate what you have been able to accomplish over time is so valuable.”
Career Challenge
“Even as a young professional, you have a choice whether you stay or you go. And sometimes for me growing up where I grew up, I would tell myself that, ‘you just have to be strong, you have to power through, don’t be a punk.’ Do you know what? — it wasn’t worth it. The amount of sleepless nights and the amount of psychological and spiritual distress that I experienced, especially in the later years, there were no trophies that I got after I endured horrible mistreatment for years and years before I decided I’m going to transition.”
