Interview Highlights
“The I and the D in iD Tech camps, those stand for internal drive and the internal drive is really what we had. And that’s what we try to instill in all of our students.”
Best Career Advice
“You own nothing but your relationships. To me, that meant take care of people you’ve never met before, take care of your students, take care of each other, treat people the right way because people will remember that.”
Career Challenge
“It’s year two of iD Tech. We had launched study tech, but again, we really didn’t have any money, certainly no investment capital. I was still living with my parents and I actually met somebody, now she’s my wife, but I still remember the conversation with her. I said, it’s so hard. I have no money. I wake up everyday working. I’m answering customer service calls at two in the morning, driving brochures around from school to school, literally in the back of my car to get the word out and through pure exhaustion. I told her I was going to quit.”
