“Narrow down the area of social enterprise that you might be interested in … I think for those who are looking to enter this spiel, they need to understand that this is an industry that you enter because you’re passionate about having an impact and improving the world and you can make a reasonable living at it … it’s not a field where you’re going to go and suddenly be wealthy.”
Career Challenge
“I’ve had a couple of really bad bosses in my career and I’ll pick one example about a bad boss … so this boss was great in the interview, right? I interviewed, I thought he was terrific. The company sounded great. I decided to move forward and take the job. But once taking the job fairly quickly, it became evident that he was a really bad people person. He was verbally abusive to all of his subordinates … after a couple of weeks of that, I realized it was completely degrading and I just didn’t want to do that. So I ended up leaving the company, no regrets, very glad I did.”
