Dr. Sheila Akbar is the president and coo at Signet Education where she’s worked since 2010. She loves teaching and learning and finds nothing more rewarding than working closely with students to help them overcome the challenges they face. Sheila’s wealth of experience teaching SAT, ACT, GRE, literature and composition began with her passion for Persian poetry. After she graduated from college Sheila went into the financial services industry and then into recruiting. Eventually she returned to school to deepen her expertise and love of literature. Sheila got her B.A.and M.A. from Harvard University in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. She has two doctoral degrees from Indiana University Bloomington in Comparative Literature, Near Eastern Languages and Culture.
