Dr. Mahmoud Ghannoum is a tenured professor and director of The Center for Medical Mycology at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is considered to be one of the leading microbiome researchers in the world. His claim to fame is naming the mycobiome, our bodies fungal community. Dr. Ghannoum is the founder of BIOHM, which is the first company to engineer products and run tests to address the total microbiome of bacteria and fungi, to help consumers maintain their digestive health. Dr. Ghannoum has published books on fungus including, Total Gut Balance: Fix Your Microbiome Fast For Complete Digestive Wellness as well as over 490 peer reviewed scientific papers. Through his research, Dr. Ghannoum has made tremendous discoveries on fungus within the human body. He graduated from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon with a degree in Biology Chemistry. He got his Master’s in Medicinal Chemistry and his PhD in microbial physiology at Loughborough University of Technology in England.
